Grasslands — A dungeon whose gate appeared in the grasslands. It has been officially designated 'Alfheim.' Monster attributes will be documented at a later date.
Monster List
Makaraka (related story)
Description: A monster that appears on the lower floors of the dungeon.
Attributes: Darkness, Earth
Appearance: Resembles a spider. It has a massive body with eight razor-sharp legs and two fangs protruding from its mouth. Though it varies by individual, anywhere from twenty to thirty red eyes line the crown of its head down to its face.
Weakness: Among its many eyes, only one eye is its weak point. When this eye is destroyed, the creature suffers an immense slowing effect. This weak-point eye can only be identified by those with a specific ability, and once destroyed, it does not regenerate.
Caution: Being struck by its fangs or legs causes paralysis. The other eyes contain a toxic fluid that causes mild burns, so avoid destroying them indiscriminately.
Nisa (related story)
Description: A monster born when a forest fairy is exposed to human sins — greed, jealousy, rage — and becomes corrupted. Better known by its alias 'the Shrouded Night' than by its true name 'Nisa.' Normally indistinguishable from an ordinary fairy, but when it senses a threat, it summons 'Night' from the veil draped over its head. This 'Night' drains all life force from the surrounding area, so when a Nisa is born in a forest, nothing can survive there, and purification is required to restore the forest.
Attributes: Darkness, Forest
Appearance: Resembles a fairy — pale, delicate skin, a feminine form, and strikingly beautiful. Unlike other fairies, however, it has black hair — making it easy to distinguish at a glance. If you spot a black-haired fairy in the forest, do not provoke it. Leave immediately.
Weakness: As a dark-attribute monster, it is vulnerable to holy-attribute magic and power. If the veil Nisa wears is burned away with holy power, the creature becomes unable to use any abilities.
Caution: When Nisa activates its ability, 'Night' — a spatial domain — is summoned from the transparent veil on its head. Though the summoned 'Night' resembles a beautiful starlit sky, this space drains life force — anyone who touches or enters it will age rapidly and perish. 'Night' grows larger as it absorbs more life force. If you plan to subjugate a Nisa, be sure to bring someone who can target its weakness during daytime, when 'Night' is clearly visible.
Elafi (related stories)
Description: A monster that trails a misty forest wherever it goes, forever starving with a hideous, insatiable hunger. It devours any creature that enters the misty forest or consumes sacrifices offered to it.
Attributes: Darkness, Mist, Forest
Appearance: Takes the form of a deer. Unlike ordinary deer, it towers over half the height of a tree, with an enormous build. Its most distinctive feature is its thick, black antlers, from which sky-blue and dark indigo orbs hang.
Weakness: No widely known weakness has been documented. What is known is that Elafi roams within its misty forest, pursuing sacrifices offered in exchange for its 'Tikiki' and 'Rapiri.'
Abilities: Two types of orbs grow on Elafi's antlers. Both types take effect when dissolved in hot water and consumed. The sky-blue orb, called Tikiki, can resurrect one of the souls Elafi has swallowed by transforming it into a fairy. The dark indigo orb, Rapiri, brings the consumer's long-held desires and dreams closer to reality.
Caution: Parties entering the dungeon to hunt Elafi should check whether they have been marked as sacrificial targets. Many people worship Elafi as a god and perform human sacrifices to obtain its Tikiki and Rapiri. These worshippers leave 'Marks of the Sacrificed' along their path to offer victims to Elafi, and Elafi follows these marks while spreading its misty forest — so always watch your back.
(If you happen to discover a mark and are about to be devoured by Elafi, carve the 'Mark of the Sacrificed' on your own forehead. Elafi may then see you as a fellow worshipper making offerings and spare you.)
Haba (related story)
Description: A monster born from a tree. It loves the wind and always appears from the direction it blows. It engages humans in conversation and gradually steals their voices, claiming them as its own.
Attributes: Wood, Sound
Appearance: Resembles a young boy. It has light green hair, and its pupils are shaped like leaves. Having evolved perfectly for its ability to lure humans and steal their voices, its outward appearance is strikingly handsome.
Weakness: As a monster born from a tree, water-attribute attacks beyond what Haba can absorb will cause a slowing effect. Alternatively, powerful fire-attribute attacks will burn it away entirely. Caution: Half-hearted fire or physical attacks won't destroy it — they may actually cause the monster to split into two or three. When dealing with Haba, slow it with water-attribute attacks first, then finish it off decisively with fire-attribute attacks.
