Two buttons, two very different meanings.

These look similar but do different things.

Join makes you a member. Members can vouch ▲ for stories and contribute to the universe. Exactly what you can do depends on your role.

Follow ★ subscribes you to the universe's updates and adds to its follower count, which helps it rise in Popular.

Follow a world you're curious about; join the ones you want to help build. (An owner can't join or leave their own universe; they're already all-in.)
