Once a gem is cataloged in Vias's Gem Encyclopedia, its raw gemstone can be mined near the Esenubel Volcanic Belt.

Types of Gems

Vias Gem
- Description: A gem cut from raw Vias stone.
- Characteristics: Dark crimson; reflects intensely saturated red light
- Effects: Enables Human Gem mining, increases physical strength, Imaginative Melody (singing images from one's mind into being), Minstrelsy (conveying mental images through song)
- Side effects: Simplified speech or selective mutism; all thoughts manifest as images
Krit Gem (or Kris Gem)
- Description: A gem cut from raw Krit stone
- Characteristics: Orangish yellow
- Effects: Maintains body temperature, heals minor wounds, alleviates pain, calms mind and body, increases endurance
- Side effects: Bad luck
Prelsi Gem
Description: A gem cut from raw Prelsi stone
Characteristics: Blue as a clear sky, with small golden speckles
Effects: Levitation (freedom in water and air)
Side effects: Amnesia and diminished memory capacity
